Partnership in the Gospel
As believers in Jesus we are all members of God’s Church under Christ Jesus as the head. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ no matter which church or denomination we belong to. This “family” membership is not determined by our affiliations but by the fact that we are born of the Spirit (born again). We at Liberty treat every born-again believer as a family member which, as the Bible teaches us, is the way that God sees it.
Clearly the bible also shows us that God calls us to “partner” ourselves with a local church through the Holy Spirit’s leading. We believe that a person’s love for and participation in a local church is a real indication of their love for the universal church. The term “partnership” (koinōnia) in Philippians 1:3‑6 means communion, fellowship, sharer, or companion. Communion is a common term used throughout the New Testament to describe the intimate fellowship (Christ-centered relationship) shared among Christians when they gather together
